Wedding Love, With Neutral Colours And Pops Of Blue

Articles, Real Weddings

This is Laura and Nicky, a beautiful couple who tied the knot earlier this year! They describe their wedding theme as ‘neutral’, with a white and green bouquet and pops of blue in the decor and bridesmaids dresses.

Couple: Laura & Nicky
Engagement length: 2 years
Wedding date: 2024-04-26
Wedding location: Oriel House Hotel

Laura and Nicky met while out with friends and have been together for almost 14 years!

“Nicky proposed to me on Christmas Morning surrounded by our 3 children.”

For their wedding aesthetic, they opted for neutral. Laura’s bouquet had lots of white and green shades, while the overall wedding look had pops of blue.

Laura wore a Sophia Tolli Zendaya dress bought from Cinderella’s closet. It was off the shoulder with a diamante belt attached. She also had an over skirt with buttons all down the back, and a diamante veil.

Nicky wore a tux with a blue velvet jacket bought in Morley’s Cork.

The bridesmaids wore beautiful blue/green dresses with diamante straps and had little diamonds/sequins around the waist and a cowl neck at the back. The groomsmen wore black tux also bought in Morley’s.

“Our ceremony was beautiful! We had Lynda Cusack as our singer and she was amazing.”

“We had our reception at the Oriel House Hotel. They couldn’t do enough for us – the food was also fabulous!”

The wedding was beautifully captured by Timmy Keane of Timtim Media.

“Timmy Keane was our photographer who I came across on this page. He was so down to earth and really put us at ease on the wedding morning. We didn’t even know he was there at some points and he captured the most beautiful pictures.”

“We had Darren from Sax Appeal for our drinks reception and also for our dinner entrance. He had everyone up waving napkins, he really set the tone for the night!”

Laura says that her favourite memory was seeing all their friends and family together, laughing and enjoying the day!

We always ask our newlyweds for their best wedding planning advice. This is what Laura and Nicky said:

“I would say to enjoy every little moment even the run up, although I know it can be quite stressful. It’s all over in the blink of an eye, so just enjoy every moment and don’t sweat the small stuff.”
