Five DIY Place Cards Ideas

Inspiration

We’re back on the DIY train today, because as you know, we love a bride who adds bespoke touches to her wedding day. If DIY is new to you, we suggest you tackle projects that are achievable, and today’s DIY place cards are just that, so read on for simple yet pretty ideas.

1. Luggage tag & badge combo

These luggage tags have been simply stamped with each guest name and a badge attached; a great idea for combining your place card with your wedding favour. You could have special badges made for your wedding day, or choose quirky designs to suit each guest. Etsy is always a great resource for finding funky badges. You could also attach a button to each tag for a more country-chic look.

2. Watercolour cards

Watercolour stationery is bang on trend this year, so if you fancy giving this romantic look a go yourself, you can follow the step-by-step tutorial over on Ginny Au’s blog here. And if you do give it a go, we’d love to see it so make sure you send us a pic!

3. Simple chalkboard clothes peg card holder

It can’t get much easier and budget friendly than a painted clothes peg, could it? Follow the tutorial here for your own touch of personalised chic-ness!

4. Weaved floral stem

What could be prettier than a single stem flower as your wedding favour! Not much, we think. Incorporate your place card with your favour for a two-in-one stylish place setting. To make sure the flowers are looking their freshest, this is one job that you’ll have to leave until the very last minute, so make sure you have time and plenty of hands on stand-by to help out!

5. Paint swatch place cards

Now, we know what you’re thinking – those are paint swatches! Well, yes they are, but don’t they create a cool designer look?! And all you’ll have to do is simply write each guest’s name on them. Throughout your engagement, we suggest you collect these cards in your colour of choice. If you chose to name each table after a different colour these would fit in nicely with your theme. But please don’t say we sent you to your local DIY store!
