With the great news of a Royal wedding across the pond just announced this morning, we’re feeling full of love today, and we’re delighted to share Laura and Liam’s destination wedding in Cairns, Australia.
After meeting at a friend’s wedding, the couple became engaged when Liam proposed by candlelight at his grandparents’ house. The couple chose to marry at the beginning of December last year in a sunshine drenched, elegant wedding at the Pacific Hotel in Cairns.
“The venue was a little rustic and elegant and we dressed lanterns with ivy for the centrepieces and lots of fairylights for a sparkling touch. The decor was simple and beautiful and reflected the laid-back feel of the day. For a DIY touch I made my own chocolate favours and presented them nicely in little brown boxes,” explained Laura.
Laura’s Favourite Memory
There were so many moments. One that I’ll never forget is when I was sitting down at the bridal table. I put my flowers in front of me on the table and I didn’t know I put it on a candle. So, some of my flowers caught on fire!!! Lucky they were fake, and easily put out! Not many people saw, but it was hilarious.
Laura’s Advice
Treasure every moment of your special day – you only get it once! Remember to not stress, there’s nothing to stress about. It’s amazing how everything falls into place and on the day, it all flows!
