If you’ve found yourself invited to a very exciting black tie wedding it’s fair that you might be a little unsure of what exactly you should be wearing. You’re about to step out in all your finery and you should be delighted about that! Who doesn’t want to dress up and enjoy themselves?!

If you’re feeling a tad confused we hope to help you out, step this way for all your black tie fashion answers…

What does black tie actually mean?

In the broadest terms, a black tie wedding will require the guest to wear a tuxedo or evening dress. Over the years the lines of evening dress have been blurred with some opting for a fabulous jumpsuit or spectacular suit option- dresses should always be floor-length, short or mid-length just won’t cut it.

For the guys, black tie means a tuxedo with a proper dinner jacket, tuxedo trousers, the right accessories and shoes. Always go for a tux in dark shades of black, navy, grey or jewels shades of emerald or burgundy.
