A Black, Burnt Orange And White Wedding With An Ode To Movies

Articles, Real Weddings

Say hello to Stephanie and Keith! We love it when couples plan a wedding that’s unique and very ‘them’, and that’s exactly what this fabulous couple did. Their colour scheme was black, burnt orange and a little bit of white, and their tables were named after movies they like (Disney, Pixar and even horror movies). So creative!

Stephanie and Keith’s love story began when they met online. They then got engaged in a romantic proposal at home.

Stephanie shares, “I was in work, working late night and got home to a bit of a panicked boyfriend. Didn’t think much of it but was told to sit in the sitting room. When he called me in there was a bunch of flowers and a love heart of candles. I walked up to have a look and when I turned around he was on one knee. I always said I didn’t want it done in public and I didn’t want it on a special occasion. The thing that mostly took my breath away was he went and asked both my parents the same evening.”

We love that Stephanie and Keith did things a little differently and planned something very unique.

“Our wedding was a little different, we had black tablecloths and chairs covers which I really loved!! The colours were burgundy, black, burnt orange and of course a little bit of white. Theme of our tables was horror movies and Disney/Pixar movies, well our favourite movies.”

Here’s what Stephanie and Keith said about their ceremony:

“Short and sweet but exactly what we wanted. For us, we aren’t people who like to be centre of attention. So the simple, but stunning ceremony really suited us.”

They tied the knot and hosted all the festivities at Springfield Hotel.

“The day couldn’t have gone any smoother with them. Sean Kerion and Steven really pulled the whole day together. All the staff were amazing and hotel were very accommodating even if I turned a little bridezilla. The hotel has been freshly refurbished and the place is stunning. The rooms, the reception area, the bar, all of it has turned out stunning.”

All the festivities were captured by David McAuley Photography!

“Was so good and really helped settle the nerves. He really helped the morning run smoothly, but also so professional and the photos turned out amazing.”

Stephanie made a lot of wedding items herself. She ordered favours online and assembled sweet bags and items. She also got giant glow sticks for the dancing and toilet baskets with flip flops.

Stephanie shares her favourite memory from the day:

Spending 15 minutes with my husband driving to get photos.”

Newlyweds give brilliant advice for other couples. This is what Stephanie and Keith shared:

“To remember that really if no one knows it wasn’t meant to be that way or you forgot something, no will ever know.”
