My name is Ruth Healy and I am a registered solemniser with the HSE Ireland and accredited with The Humanist Association of Ireland to preform legal wedding ceremonies in Ireland.
I have worked for the past 20 years as a professional florist in the wedding & events industry and prior to this taught speech & drama and effective communication to both children and adults.
In essence I have been storytelling all of my working life, portraying human emotion through the medium of flowers, theatre and words. Creating a portal through which personal expression can be shared and enjoyed.
A Humanist wedding ceremony is a non religious ceremony crafted in celebration of your love story.
Your ceremony is the beating heart of your wedding day and it is my job to help you design a ceremony that reflects who you are as a couple and portray it in such a way that you and all your loved ones experience the emotional beauty of this new beginning.
A Humanist wedding ceremony is sheer joy.
There may be music and poetry and laughter and nerves, there may be missing rings and excited kids, there may be rain there may be sun there may even be a few tears but amidst all that there will be fun there will be joy and there will be love .

Ruth was simply amazing from start to finish. She met myself/my husband on teams twice before the big day and from the get go but us at ease. Her service was flawless, everyone complimented how fantastic it was. Ruth went above and beyond our expectations for our recent cermony. It was a complete joy to work with her for our special day. We instantly felt at ease with her the moment we met with her and we only ever felt like we were her only couple she was working with. From the moment I met Ruth for our initial conversation, I knew that she was perfect. She listened to us and gave us great advice. Ruth tailored the ceremony perfectly, taking account of our personalities. Our ceremony was both emotional and hilarious and Adrian and I and our families and guests either laughed or cried through the whole wedding. On the day Ruth seamlessly organised the ceremony, wedding music, liaised with the hotel and organised clueless wedding party members. There aren't words to describe how eloquent Ruth is and she got our day off to an incredible start. We were lucky enough to have Ruth as our celebrant for our wedding in May. Where do we possibly start. Ruth was incredible right from the very first zoom meeting we had with her, putting us at ease about the whole thing straight away. The service itself was so personal & special, something we will never forget. We had nothing to worry about at any point as Ruth literally took care of it all. Ruth was great, the words that were spoken of my wife and I were really beautiful and the structure of the ceremony kept people engaged. Ruth offers special extras, like the old Celtic tradition of ‘tying the knot’, which was really special. We will have that ribbon and knot framed for life.

The moment we had our first Zoom meeting with Ruth, we knew instantly that we wanted her to be a part of our day. She is so easy going and kind and really helped us to understand the legal requirements and processes about getting married (honestly, I was focused on the fun stuff & had forgotten all about the legal part!)

She had people laughing and crying ( good tears!) and she really captured us as a couple and our love story.
After the ceremony, all of our guests commented on what a fabulous ceremony it was, with a few even saying that they wanted to get married again just to have Ruth marry them!
We will eternally be grateful to Ruth for such a beautiful ceremony and setting the tone for what went on to be such a fun day!

We recently had Ruth as a celebrant at our wedding in Sligo in Dec ‘24 and could not be happier we chose her. From the very start, Ruth gave a high level of detail and communication through the whole process, really getting to know the couple. She is extremely friendly, funny, approachable and makes you enjoy the process even more.
Ruth made the ceremony itself massively tailored to us the couple, and we got a huge amount of compliments about how nice thw ceremony was laid out and approached. Ruth brought a huge amount of energy to the occasion, and has a wide array of options on how to personalise/tailor the ceremony the way we wanted (ie tieing the knot, candle lighting, poems/readings, ring presenting etc)

She spoke with such passion and warmth and had everyone feeling so relaxed and involved in our intimate ceremony, she was a calming presence for myself and my partner on the morning of our day and she kept us both cool and calm! She is so kind and full of enthusiasm and I am forever grateful to her for being a part of our day. Ruth was absolutely amazing from start to finish. So friendly and easy going, she made the whole process a total breeze. It can be pretty daunting doing something different for a ceremony, writing vows and telling "your story" but honestly Ruth made it feel like we were just catching up with an old friend as she put together our tale. She has a way of making even the most mundane seem wildly romantic. Everyone loved the ceremony and said it was the best wedding they had ever attended. Ruth was there on the morning early to help organise people and keep everyone right which was also such a great help in the midst of the busyness.!

Ruth made our day so special. From the preparation and learning about our love story to her telling it, was simply amazing. I felt like she was interested in our travels and adventures as a couple and felt like a family friend on the day infront of us as we exchanged vows. Ruth talked about our loved ones who had recently passed in the most beautiful way, which meant so much to us, Ruth made the ceremony everything we wanted it to be. Everyone had commented on how lovely the ceremony was. Ruth even came to see me during the bridal prep - just her presence in general was reassuring. Ruth is such a professional with a big heart and loves what she does. We could not recommend her enough as a celebrant.

We were really happy that Ruth Healy was able to do our wedding ceremony, from our first call with Ruth she put us at ease, explained everything and kept us on track (timewise) the whole way.

I don't think a short review will do justice to the incredible job Ruth did on our wedding day. The ceremony was without a doubt (and unexpectedly) our favourite part of the whole experience and that was down to Ruth's inspirational words. Ruth set a very relaxed tone making us and all of our guests feel at ease from the start. She delivered a ceremony that was full of humour and was so personal to us as a couple. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Ruth had the difficult task of getting to know us as a couple. She made this experience so easy through zoom calls and made us feel so relaxed with the whole process. Ruth has the ability to be so professional while also making you feel like you are chatting with a good friend. Ruth was mentioned many times on our wedding day and for weeks after, with people complimenting how personalised, heartfelt and meaninful the whole ceremony was. I cannot recommend Ruth enough.

Ruth was professional in her approach, reliable, punctual, and well-organised. She had an understanding of the legal requirements for a marriage ceremony and was able to handle any necessary paperwork efficiently. We had a beautiful day and the ceremony was perfect thanks to Ruth, it was everything we could have asked for and most importantly it was made easy and plain sailing by Ruth. My journey with Ruth from the first phone call to the closing of our wedding ceremony was by far my favourite. Ruth had us us laughing with her witty humour one minute and crying tears of deep love the next. She wrapped a tender arm around my daughter when she cried during her poem and equally beamed with pride when my eldest sang. It is very easy to get caught up in the surroundings, the aesthetic and the non essentials.. however it's the feeling created that counts. When you find someone, like Ruth, who aligns herself to that .. grab her !!

We met Ruth over Zoom initially and from our very first chat, we knew we were in good hands. Ruth is exceptionally organized and knowledgeable about the entire process. We didn’t know where to start and she provided clear instructions, helpful materials and great suggestions (readings, symbolic elements etc.)
What meant the most to us was how beautifully she told our story on the day. It’s not the simplest of stories as we were both married previously and each have children from the previous marriages but she captured our story with such care, thoughtfulness and authenticity.
Wedding planning is very stressful and overwhelming. Out of all the wedding vendors, Ruth was the only one that gave us piece of mind. She was so calm and structured, I just knew she had it all covered. She showed up on the day in time to run through the important elements with us. She made the entire experience feel effortless and gave us a ceremony that we’ll never forget. We’re so grateful we found Ruth and couldn’t recommend her more highly. Having Ruth as our celebrant was the best decision we made for our wedding.
