Choosing your wedding music is one of the most enjoyable parts of wedding planning. You get to discuss your favourites, decide which song plays when, talk to the DJ or the band, and generally re-live some great memories. Your music is also a perfect way to add your personality to the proceedings.

As enjoyable as it is, many brides find it surprising just how many songs they need to think about! First dance song? Sorted! How about… ceremony processional, signing the register, recessional? Musical background during the drinks reception? Reception entrance for parents, bridal party, newlyweds? Music during the evening meal? The second song after the first dance?

Can you say your head is ‘spinning around’ yet? Well, don’t worry because you can really go to town here and choose anything you like. Just think – memories, meaningful, reflecting the mood of the day.

When you think of your reception entrance, you probably see it as one of the day’s highlights. Lots of joy, guests clapping or toasting, perhaps the DJ announcing the ‘Mr & Mrs!’ for the first time, loud and clear for all to hear. It’s a wonderful moment! It’s no surprise then, that couples tend to choose more upbeat numbers for their entrance.

We have some fantastic suggestions for reception entrance songs, gathered from many discussion forums across the internet. Unsurprisingly, there are repeats of songs that appeared on our first dance song list! And that’s just because they are great songs.
