The Winner of the Outstanding Achievement Award for WOL Awards 21

WOL Awards

As part of WOL Awards 21, we were delighted to introduce the new Outstanding Achievement Award!  We received many nominations for those who have worked tirelessly from all across the wedding industry especially in this last difficult year. However, the one who stood out from them all and our chosen winner for this year is the amazing 87 year old, Mitzie Corscadden of Romantic Castles of Ireland.

Mitzie Corscadden presented with her Outstanding Achievement Award on behalf of weddingsonline by her son Howard Corscadden of the Romantic Castles of Ireland.

One of the first female graduates of the Shannon College of Hotel Management in 1953. Mitzie has been a true inspiration for females in the hospitality industry. She has dedicated her whole life and career to the wedding and hospitality industry. Now In her 88th year, Mitzie remains a key member of the board and continues to influence the operations and future strategy of the group.

Building a company – and maintaining its success – takes confidence, determination, and the ability to take risks – These are the words, we would use to describe Mitzie Corscadden.

In 1991, Mitzie and her family purchased Cabra Castle in County Cavan, since then she has been instrumental in expanding the ‘Romantic Castles of Ireland’ collection, to become Ireland’s largest privately owned and operated castle group, with the addition of Ballyseede Castle in Kerry, Bellingham Castle in Louth, and Markree Castle in Sligo.
